The 2018 trip season is upon us and we have a full slate of trips for you to choose from. Below is a list of trips along with the dates and cost. The compete itinerary will follow as we get closer to each trip. 

April 24, 2018
IL Route 66 and the Carlinville Sears Houses
We are going to enjoy driving along one of the finest remaining stretches of historic Route 66 between Staunton and Litchfield, IL. Each year, thousands of visitors from all over the world drive this route, stopping to visit some of the sites in the “real” American heartland. We will experience the drive and sites of that same piece of “The Mother Road,” stop at Henry’s Rabbit Ranch to see Rich’s collection of Route 66 artifacts, Country Classic cars, and visit the Mother Jones Monument in Mt Olive. At noon we will enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by the Carlinville United Methodist Church Ladies. We will take a driving tour of the 9 blocks of Sears houses, and probably receive an invitation to tour inside one of the homes. We will continue on I 55 to Raymond, to view the Lady of the Highways Shrine. Cost for this trip is $ 110.00 for members and $120.00 for non-members. This includes Bales Bus, tour, guide and meal. Linda Koenig will be our guide for the day. We must have 25 to be able to take this trip. Reservations due March 24th and payment due April 15th.

June 11 – June 15, 2018
Climb aboard a horse- drawn carriage on beautiful Mackinac Island, and clip- clop through breathtaking forest and floral vistas to view the sparkling water from the Arch Rock overlook. Snap pictures of the magnificent gardens from a rocking chair on the porch of the Grand Hotel. Taste your favorite fudge in one of the many shops. We will have a guided horse -drawn carriage tour of the island. To get to the island we will take a hydrojet ferry ride. On our way to Mackinac, we will visit Frankenmuth, Michigan’s “Little Bavaria,” which is home to the Christmas Bronner’s store, “the world’s largest Christmas store.” It is a shopper’s dream with over 50,000 trims and gifts and is the size of 1 ½ football fields. We will also be able to enjoy a family-style dinner at Zehnder’s Restaurant, home of the best friend chicken. On our way back, we will visit the Henry Ford Museum & the Ford factory in Dearborn, MI. An itinerary is enclosed, but a complete one will be sent closer to departure. We must have a minimum of 35 to 40 people to take this trip. $ 100.00 deposit is required at signup. We cannot get the deposit back if the trip is cancelled after April 11th. Final payment will be due May 1st. The cost of this 5-day (4-night) trip is: Doubles (per person) - $720.00 for members, $750.00 for non-members / Singles - $919.00 for members, $949.00 for non-members. Reservations due April 1st. The cost of this trip includes, Bales Transportation, tour guide, tours, lodging and meals.

September 23 to September 29
Cape Cod’s wonders unfold before you with the help of experienced escort. Cruise the waters of Hyannis Harbor, tour historic sites and landmarks, sandy dunes, seaside cottages, arty towns and quaint shops that make Cape Cod the “the something for everyone” vacation spot! This trip includes Chatham, Plymouth Rock, historic town of Sandwich, Hyannis area, including Kennedy Memorial & Main Street, Cape Cod Canal Visitor’s center. We will also get to tour Martha’s Vineyard. Our guide will escort you to Boston for a tour of the city where America’s roots were formed. Your guide will point out sights along the Freedom Trail as well as the Boston Common and Public Gardens, Back Bay, Bunker Hill, Beacon Hill, and the State House. Enjoy free time for lunch, shopping at Historic Quincy Market and Faneui Hall. We will travel to Sandwich, the oldest town on Cape Cod, where we will view the Village Green, the Great Salt Marsh, a cranberry bog, and Cape Cod Bay. I have enclosed an itinerary of this trip and a complete one will be sent closer to departure. We also must have a minimum of 35 to 40 people to take this trip. Cost for this 7-day (6-night) trip: Doubles (per person) - $1,040.00 for members, $1,070.00 for non-members / Singles - $1259.00 for members, $1,289.00 for non-members. A $100.00 deposit is required at sign-up. Reservations are due July 15th, and payment in full is due August 1st. This includes, meals, lodging, Bales transportation, and fully guided tours.

Thursday, November 29
St Louis Holiday Highlights
We will be travelling to St Louis to see the fabulous 30-room, 12,000 square foot Stockstrum “Magic Chef” Mansion in Compton Height. All gussied-up for the holidays, this 1908 house features eight gas-powered fireplaces and a 70 ft long bowling alley. After visiting there, we will have a lunch at Lorenzo’s Trattoria. After lunch, you will be able to walk across the street and see cheeses and sausages at Volpi’s Meats, for purchase, or stroll down the street and purchase Italian baked goods at Missouri Baking Company. In the afternoon, we will visit Walter Knoll Wholesale Florist on Floral Road to view the greenhouses, filled with beautiful poinsettias, cyclamen, Christmas Cactus and many other holiday plants. You will be able to purchase holiday decorations, ornaments and holiday plants at half-price. After that, you will be able to browse through the Gringo Jones shop, the Bug Store, and The Little Shop Around the Corner and shop for unique gifts. Linda Koenig will be our guide for this trip and we will meet her at the Anheuser-Busch Visitors’ center on Lynch Street in St Louis. Cost for this trip is $ 107.00 for members and $117.00 for non-members. Cost includes Bales Bus, lunch, tour and guide. In order to take this trip, we will need at least 25 people signed up. You will need to sign up by October 29th and payment due November 15.

December 3rd thru December 6
All inclusive package includes 4 days and 3 nights Christmas in Branson. We will be staying at the Savannah House – Complimentary hot breakfast – Cobbler and ice cream and fresh baked cookies in the evening served in the breakfast room – also free 24 hour fresh coffee and hot cappuccino in the lobby – Luggage service, Legends in Concert with dinner, Bretts with lunch, Duttons, shopping at IMAX with dinner following at McFarlain’s Family Restaurant, Samson at the Sight and Sound theatre (the show everyone is wanting to see) Broadway to Buble starring George Dyer, Lunch at Pickin’Porch Grill, Hughes Brothers Christmas, Dinner at Golden Corral Buffet and Variety Show. Complete itinerary and shows including menus and times will be mailed later. We must have 30 to make this trip a go. We will need a $100.00 deposit per person when reservations are made. Reservation need to be in by October 1st. Payment in full needs to be in by November 1st. The cost includes, Bales transportation, lodging, meals and shows. The cost for this 4-day (3-night) trip is: Doubles (per person) – $630.00 for members, $660.00 for non-members / Singles - $780.00 for members, $810.00 non-members.
